COACHING CAREER

2019 represents second season with Angels and first as assistant hitting coach...Promoted to current role after spending the 2018 campaign as the Angels Minor League Assistant Hitting Coordinator...From 2014-17, was a minor league hitting coach in the Dodgers system...In 2016-17, was the hitting coach with Triple-A Oklahoma City, working with Dodger prospects Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson and Corey Seager...Tenure with Oklahoma City followed two seasons (2014-15) as hitting coach for Double-A Tulsa...Managed San Diego's Single-A affiliate in Lake Elsinore during the 2012 and 2013 seasons...In first year at the helm of the Storm, Club reached the California League playoffs but were eliminated in the South Division preliminaries...In 2011, managed the Single-A Fort Wayne TinCaps (Padres) of the Midwest League, earning a playoff berth with a win on the last day of the regular season...Made coaching debut as the hitting coach for Single-A Eugene (Padres) in 2010.

PLAYING CAREER

Played six Major League seasons with the Angels (2000-03), Phillies (2004) and Red Sox (2005), batting a combined .272 (182/669) with 28 doubles, a triple, 18 home runs and 84 RBI...In 2002 postseason, he batted .474 (9/19) with five runs scored, one home run and three RBI to help Angels to their first World Series Championship ... Attended South Hills HS (West Covina, CA) and Mt. San Antonio College (Walnut, CA) before being drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 18th round of the 1993 First-Year Player Draft...Signed with the Angels as a free agent in 1997...Played high school baseball with future Major Leaguers Jason Giambi, Cory Lidle and Aaron Small.
