2019 marks first season on the Angels coaching staff following appointment Dec. 3, 2018 (replacing Alfredo Griffin)...Joins Halos as first base and outfield coach following five seasons in the Cubs organization ... Spent the 2018 campaign as hitting coach for Double-A Tennessee following two seasons (2016-17) as Single-A Eugene's manager...During second season at helm of Eugene, Club finished second in the Northwest League, falling in the finals to the Vancouver Canadians...In 2016, his Emeralds captured the Northwest League title, the Club's first since 1975...Tabbed as the 2016 Northwest League Manager of the Year...Served as Single-A South Bend's hitting coach in 2015 and Single-A Boise's hitting coach in 2014...In 2015, worked with future Yankee Gleyber Torres who led the Club with a .293 (136/464) average.

Played 15 seasons of professional baseball, reaching the Majors in 2010 with the Mets...Appeared in 54 games with New York following debut June 10...Posted a .231 (25/108) clip with four doubles, a triple and three RBI at the Major League level...Over the course of career in minors with the Dodgers (1998-2003), Tampa Bay (2003-04 & 2012), Washington (2005-06) and New York - N.L. (2007-11), amassed a .282 (1,503/5,328) average with 204 doubles, 21 triples, 23 home runs, 457 RBI, 691 runs scored and 199 stolen bases...Played for Team Puerto Rico during the 2009 World Baseball Classic, batting .375 (6/16) in six games...Team was eliminated by Team USA in the Pool 2 semi-finals.
