Morales fitted for inserts as soreness subsides

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Angels first baseman Kendrys Morales has been fitted for orthotic inserts in both shoes and said the soreness on the ball of his left foot has diminished.

"The throbbing has gone down a lot," Morales said through Jose Mota's translation. "As soon as [the medical staff members] give me the OK to get into baseball activities, I'll get into that."

Morales, who will open the season on the disabled list, said he is leaving Arizona on Saturday and returning to Southern California. The Angels have three final exhibition games before the March 31 opener in Kansas City. He will not appear in any of those games.
