Angels deal Gregg for reliever

The Angels swapped relievers with the Marlins on Monday, acquiring right-hander Chris Resop in exchange for right-hander Kevin Gregg.

The club also added a trio of players to the 40-man roster, bringing on infielder Matt Brown, outfielder Terry Evans and catcher Bobby Wilson to put the roster at 39.

Resop, 24, split the 2006 season between Florida and Triple-A Albuquerque, posting a 1-2 record and 3.38 ERA in 22 games with the Marlins. Gregg, 28, split the 2006 season between Triple-A Salt Lake and the Angels, going 3-4 with a 4.14 ERA. Gregg played for the Angels during the 2003-2005 seasons.

Brown, 24, spent the 2006 season at Double-A Arkansas, leading the Travelers in hits (149) and runs (77) while tying for third in the Texas League with 41 doubles. Evans, 24, was acquired from the Cardinals on July 5 in the Jeff Weaver deal before batting .309 with 48 runs scored and 11 homers in 52 games with Arkansas. Wilson, 23, played batted .286 with 45 runs scored, 26 doubles, nine home runs and 53 RBIs in 103 games.
