GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Designated hitter Jay Bruce, hitting .545 on the spring, contributed an RBI single during five-run sixth inning as the Reds rallied past the Angels for a 5-4 Cactus League victory on Sunday at Goodyear Ballpark.

A two-run home run by Alexi Amarista off Reds starter Mat Latos gave the Angels an early lead, one that held up until the sixth. That's when the Reds got to Angels reliever Trevor Bell, tagged with four of the runs plated that inning.

The Reds didn't get their first hit of the game until No. 8 hitter Devin Mesoraco's double in the third, but they wound up batting around in the sixth. Run-scoring singles by Miguel Cairo, Bruce and Donald Lutz were followed by a two-run double by Dioner Navarro in the decisive inning.

Angels starter Brad Mills, a lefty acquired from Toronto for catcher Jeff Mathis, had a clean three innings, allowing just one hit while striking out three batters.

Latos, acquired for four players from San Diego in the offseason, allowed two runs on four hits while striking out three in his second outing of the spring with the Reds.

Amarista and Kole Calhoun each collected a pair of hits for the split-squad Angels, who had 11 hits against the Reds, while Cincinnati spread out its 10 hits among nine players.

Angels up next: Jered Weaver will get his second start of the spring when the Angels host the crosstown-rival Dodgers on Monday, going approximately three innings while facing off against Aaron Harang. Right-handers Matt Shoemaker, Kevin Jepsen, Ryan Brasier and Michael Kohn will also pitch the 1:05 p.m. PT game, which will be available on FOX Sports West and MLB.TV. This will be the first of five spring matchups against the Dodgers.

Reds up next: Veteran Bronson Arroyo takes the mound for the second time in Cactus League play Monday when the Reds travel to the other side of the Valley of the Sun to take on the Cubs in Mesa, available via live audio webcast, exclusively on reds.com at 1:05 p.m. PT. Lefty Sean Marshall, acquired from the Cubs in December and signed to a three-year contract extension, will be among the relievers for Cincinnati.
