Angels & Aybar agree to terms on contract extension

ANAHEIM, CA - Angels' General Manager Jerry Dipoto today announced the club has agreed
to terms on a four-year contract extension with shortstop Erick Aybar. The contract will take Aybar
through the 2016 campaign. Per club policy, no financial terms of the agreement will be
announced.

Aybar, 28, is in his seventh campaign with the Halos and is coming off a career season in 2011.
He established career highs in several categories including home runs (10), runs scored (71), doubles
(33), RBI (59) and stolen bases (30). He was also honored with his first career Rawlings Gold Glove®
in 2011, just the third Angel shortstop bestowed the honor.

The native of Bani, DR has appeared in 559 games at shortstop (thru 4/18/12), the fourth
most in club history (Gary DiSarcina ranks third with 1,069 games). He established a club record for
a shortstop with a .312 clip in 2009 and was the first Halo shortstop with 30 stolen bases in 2011.
