Angels host holiday bash for area children

ANAHEIM -- The Angels, in a joint venture with the Angels Baseball Foundation and AM 830 KLAA, will host their annual Children's Holiday Party at the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. PT.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia, along with outfielder Mark Trumbo, starting pitcher C.J. Wilson, catcher Hank Conger and new reliever Ryan Madson are slated to attend.

More than 200 children from various groups in the Orange County area -- including Eli Home, Olive Crest Kristie's Foundation, Kidworks, Orangewood Children's Home and several local Boys & Girls Clubs -- will get the chance to hear Christmas stories and collect autographs from members of the Angels.

The kids also will receive an Angels hat and shirt, a special gift collected by Angels fans during the club's Halo Holiday Photo toy drive and a visit from Santa Claus. ESPN Zone will provide dinner and game credits, as well.

New Angels pitchers Joe Blanton and Sean Burnett, who agreed to two-year contracts last week, had their physical examination on Tuesday and will be introduced to the media at the ESPN Zone at 11:30 a.m. The news conference will be streamed live on FOX Sports West, but neither of the two events will be open to the public.
