Prior to Friday's game, the Angels activated Callaspo from the disabled list, but kept Jimenez on the 25-man roster because of his defense and his versatility.
As Callaspo retakes his role as the team's everyday third baseman, Jimenez may find his new role in left field as he spent Friday afternoon using Mark Trumbo's glove to get in some outfield work.
"I just am ready and available for anything they need me to do," Jimenez said. "Any spot that they need anything. If I'm here, I'll be able to do it."
Scioscia said Jimenez will be used in left field on an "emergency basis," but the 25-year old is confident and comfortable with his abilities in the outfield as he spent some time out there during the Caribbean series.
"I'm OK. Anywhere they need me, I'll be OK," Jimenez said. "If I can make the routine play, I'll be OK."
