Halos' Santana likely to start Tuesday

Santana likely to start on Tuesday

|
ANAHEIM -- As Ervin Santana made his way into the clubhouse before Sunday's game against the Dodgers after throwing a bullpen session, he said five words.

"I pitched a no-hitter," Santana said.

All joking aside, Santana threw 43 pitches in the bullpen before Sunday's game, continuing on pace to pitch Tuesday against the Rockies if everything continues according to plan and no pain resurfaces.

"Everything is feeling good," Santana said. "Before, I was feeling a little bit of pain, and now I feel nothing."

Santana was scratched from his last start in San Francisco after experiencing right forearm tightness.

After getting an MRI as a precaution, doctors saw nothing wrong, just that Santana's arm was "tired."

"Some starts this year have been a little frustrating," Santana said. "When the velocity on my fastball was skipping around, I knew something wasn't right."

Santana was activated from the disabled list on May 14 after suffering from an elbow ligament sprain the first part of the season.
