ANAHEIM -- When the Angels took the field in the sixth inning of Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Astros, Mike Trout did not join them.

Trout felt tightness in his right hamstring during his double in the third inning, and although he was initially able to play through it, he was eventually removed from the game.

"I didn't really feel it running," Trout said. "When I started walking, I felt it -- a little grab."

Although Trout does not believe the injury is anything serious, he chose to be cautious and not risk further injury.

"I just didn't want it to get worse," Trout said. "Didn't want to push it too much."

Angels manager Mike Scioscia agreed that the injury was not serious but also said the team is going to be careful.

"We'll see," Scioscia said when asked if Trout will be in Monday's lineup. "His hamstring got tight, and obviously we don't want to have that thing go right now, so we will look at it tomorrow and see where he is."
