ANAHEIM -- The Angels placed right-handed reliever Brian Stokes on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday, retroactive to Monday, with right shoulder fatigue and recalled right-hander Bobby Cassevah from Triple-A Salt Lake to take his place on the 25-man roster. Angels manager Mike Scioscia said he expects Stokes, who has a 7.31 ERA in 15 appearances this season, to return to the club once he's eligible to come off the disabled list. "He needs to just take a step back and let his shoulder settle down," Scioscia said. "It should be a quick turnaround."
Additionally, the club also rescinded the option of right-hander Matt Palmer to Salt Lake and placed him on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Friday, with an acute sprain in his right shoulder.
